Over the holiday, we entered a Zumba Video Commercial.  Unfortunately, Debbie and Donna looks like they were on a horse all day - they could hardly walk in their shoes! Their job was to "help" Christina (like she really needed help! HA!)

MEET OUR NEW INSTRUCTOR, DIAMOND

Diamond is a native Detroiter, Certified Massage Therapist, and Intern with Fitness Motivators, who enjoys motivating others to get 'in tune' with their body and mind.  She is a strong advocate of health and wellness.  Diamond has been in the dance, fitness and therapeutic bodywork industry for over two decades. She has 'rubbed many the right way'!  From instructing future Massage Therapist at Everest Institute, to volunteering her services to Battered Women Shelters to massaging Professional Athletes, etc.

HOW TO KEEP YOUR FITNESS NEW YEARS RESOLUTION!
Happy New Yearís everyone; we hope it was fun getting to see your family and friends! In this Fit Flash, I would like to take some time to help you achieve your Fitness New Yearís Goals! Starting out a new workout regime could be the biggest step. Start off one step at a time. If it means adding only one more class a week at least that is a start. After you have achieved this goal start concentrating on your next goal whether it be losing a jean size or toning your muscles. Good ways to achieve your second goal is to try keeping a food journal. Within your food journal write down everything you put in your mouth, even gum and water. This will help you become more aware of what you consume and distinguish what you need and what you donít need to consume to help your Fitness Goals. Finally, if you keep setting goals after achieving the previous goal you have now made a lifestyle change rather than a resolution that can be more easily broken.

FIT FOR FORTY PLUS TIPS

SO YOU ARE OVER FORTY
Some of us are at the time in our lives where we see how we took care of ourselves will now show. It is like an automobile... In order to have your automobile run smooth, you have to keep it oiled, engine clean, and take care of it. If you don't, it will eventually give out on you or stop working. You are never too old to add some type of activity to your life to keep your body moving and your heart healthy. I know that some of our health problems may not be our fault, because of genetics or what our higher spirit has planned for us, but we are able to maintain what we have to keep it running smoothly...inside and out.

If you eat too much junk, change your eating habits. Diets do not always work - just eat smaller portions and make sure your meals are colorful (more on that in the next newsletter) Don't take yourself too serious. You were given this life and you made it the way it is today. Deal with it or change it, but stop the excuses! Keep laughter in your life... Rent a funny movie or rent a classic that you used to love as a child... The Carol Burnett TV shows were my favorites and they always made me laugh!
